"Strong-arming" a BT phone

I found this post on another forum and thought I would share. This guy bought his new bimmer and then found out that his BT phone was not on "the list". He was able to make it work.... and it just happens to be the phone that I'm looking at buying:

My question... does anyone know how to access the BT Module on an e60 in order to get the "passkey" number?

it might work, but to what extent. how much effort is need to accomplish task such as dialing???? best if the phone will totally integrate with the system. what will happen if the sofeware is upgrade and does support the strong arm approach????

According to his post the passkey is shown on the BT module. How would YOU determine the passkey number so that you could assign it through iDrive?
