I used to track my M3s and just because my growing boys and my need for a more family friendly car led me to the E60 it doesn’t mean I want to stop participating in BMWCCA driving schools. They’re a blast but other than a few M5s I’ve never seen the more pedestrian 5-series models at a driving school. I don't expect the E60 to be as much fun as a smaller 3-series car but it's still very difficult to explore the limits of a 5-series on public roads. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think? | I've tracked my E39 a couple times when I owned it. It should be a blast tracking the e60 and push it to its limits.

The suspension bits might as well if the car saw a steady diet of driving schools but I'm more interested in learning the car's capabilities in a safe environment than abusing it. The damn car was developed and tested on the Nurburgring after all so it seems like a waste to never explore what it can really do even if it is a 3,600lb sedan. But that's just my opinion...

No reason not to track an e39...I got a chance to ride in a 745 with an instructor and 2 other people on a track once...it was a blast. It's all about the driver!
