I JUST BOUGHT A NEW CENTER CONSOLE TO REPLACE MY EXISTING ONE. THE PROBLEM IS, I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START??? THERE ARE SO MANY PIECES, IM AFRAID TO BREAK OTHER PIECES OF THE CONSOLE. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE. ( I HAVE A 325I BMW)  |

So from watching my bt install (diy) there are a few things. There are screws in the rear ashtray start there. Next the cup/change holders pop out. The e-brake boot has clips that will pop it out. Finally, there are some screws under the shifter surround those need to go as well. Thats all i know of hard to explain, but here is a link for ya.

I've pulled mine out several times. There are two screws under the ebrake boot and two screws in the rear ash tray.
Just grab the leather around the shifter and tug. It comes up pretty easy. The rear ashtray insert comes out easily, too.
After that, there are a couple of wiring harnesses to unplug, but you shoudl be able to locate those.
