Car Audio
I just ordered a 2006 525i. I am planning on adding the Sirius satellite radio as soon as my car comes in, but I have a couple of other questions. 1. Can an amplifier and subwoofer be added to the system? 2. Can factory BMW speakers be swapped up with better aftermarket speakers? 3. Can I run my IPOD somehow. I have heard about this AUX cable, but not sure if it relates to the 2006. 4. Does the satellite radio have to be installed by the dealer?
My car is due in next week, so changing to the premium system is not an option, unless it can be done after the car arrives.
Thanks for any input.

I assume you are taking a car from dealer stock if you just ordered it and you are getting it next week or so. You can always modify but, you should find an excellent installer in your area, that specializes in these type of modifications. I would not let any yahoo start cutting up a brand new car for aftermarket installs. If you can find a good installer it can be done. The other option is to inform the dealer that you want to cancel that order and then order it the way you want it, you will need to wait but everything will integrated with the idrive and your steering controls. It will be all original and factory installed which is the preferred route IMO. I would certainly ask if this can be done at the VPC before you get the car (which is the next best thing), it is worth a shot. Good Luck.
