I've had my 2006 e60 for a little over than 2 months and have had the idrive correctly identify low pressures in my tires. I don't drive over rough surfaces nor drive like a maniac. Why are my tires losing so much air?

If it's just one tire, it might be a puncture. If it's all of your tires, then it could be many things: bad tires, bad valves, bad mounting, bent rims, etc. I would recommend you talk to your dealer if all of your tires are losing air (more than 1 or 2 psi per month).
Tire Rack says it's perfectly reasonable to lose 1psi per month (sounds like you're losing more).
