My 530xi will be in soon and I just got the set-up sheet from my dealer

The one for them to do the initial set up of all the systems, like lighting, alarm, seat positon, etc.

They also sent an option catalog in case I want to add anything, lol. I was going to get the rear reflectors (only $24 for them), and am going to try to get them to throw in the fitted trunk mat (price $80). It's the one that goes over the carpet as a protective lining.

But I was/am tempted to get them to add the window tint. They charge $269 for a sedan. Is that a good price? Is there any advantages/disadvantages to having the dealer do it?

What is the set-up sheet?
Do all dealers issue a set-up sheet? My car is at the port in NJ and I hope to get it this weekend. Did they fax it to you?

They mailed it to me.
The above pretty much explains it. It's stuff like do you want the daytime running lights to be on during day, or turned off. Do you want the lights set to stay on for a bit after you turn them/the car off? And if so, for how long? Stuff like that.

Sorry, I won't be able to scan it in, but I can tell you more about it.

It's actually called the "BMW Vehicle & Key Memory Customer Selection Form", and it descibes the way thinigs work and let's you decide to have them activated or not. This would be things like the daytime running lights, pathway lighting drivers seat position memory, alarm confirmation signal, automatic locking/unlocking and climate control memory.

It basically justs asks if you want each of these active or non-active for each key (on the form it tells me I get two programmable remote control keys included with the car).

All that stuff you mention on the sheet is available via I-Drive for you to adjust on your own. No reason for the dealer to get involved. Sounds to me like this might be an old sheet back from the E39 days.

However, DRLs are the one item you list that the dealer must do for you--no access to it from I-Drive.
