Are Tire Pressure Monitors on the 5 Series now?
I know the government is requiring these on all cars in a year, but when I asked my sales guy about it he said they are not on the 5 Series now. I saw somewhere that they will be on them beginning with the March production, but I noticed the other day when I was reading on the BMWUSA site they already had it listed as a standard feature.
I've got a 530xi that will be here just after Nov 1 (OCT production) and would love it if the tire pressure monitor was on it.
Anyone know if the TPM is already showing up on the vehicles?

It uses the ABS wheel speed sensors to detect a rotational speed difference that would presumably be due to a deflated condition. It illuminates a warning light in the instrument cluster. The system that's supposedly coming in March is one that measures the actual tire pressure and then displays it, I assume, on an iDrive screen and in the Check Control messages (idiot light too maybe). The systems that measure actual pressure have been problematic in the past. It's my understanding that the 7-series had such a system when it first came out. Maybe the bugs are worked out now, a number of manufacturers have these systems, ones that display the actual tire pressure. You can get it on the Porsche 911 although it too had a delayed introduction.
