Has anybody successfully played MP3 files that you burned to a CD? I believe all 2006 530i can play MP3s on the in-dash player. What I'd like to know is if there's any special thing you have to do when burning the CD.
I'll be picking up my car through euro delivery next week and I want to bring lots of music for the long, scenic drive and MP3 seems to be the only viable solution (so I don't have to carry some 20 CD's). Too bad Sirius doesn't work over there.

All cars produced from October onwards are supposed to be able to play MP3's. Previous to October, only cars without NAV can play MP3's.

Can someone confirm if there's going to be a software update for Nav Pro owners to allow MP3 playback?
I've read through a lot of posts but couldn't determine if that was the case.

My E90 325i SE doesn't play MP3s from CD either (although the user manual indicates that it should). I asked BMW service about this and the guy said that the models with Nav Pro need a SW update, which is due in December. He also said that BMW is always late with SW upgrades and that I should call them again in January!
