 Activate Navigation

I have a 2005 525 that I would love to activate the navigation system on, since its a lease the dealer said I would have had to do it before the purchase. Does anybody have an idea if this could be done.

uhhh...do you have NAV on the car? My NAV worked from the moment I put in the NAV DVD.

Assuming nav is installed, no need to activate.

You wouldn't by chance be confusing the Navigation with the BMW Assist would you? BMW Assist needs "activation" by pressing the red button and connecting with them to set things up. Also, your Sirius radio needs "activation" as well...gotta call 'em and get it set up (free for the first year). For the Navigation to work, you need to have the map DVD inserted into the DVD player (it is located just below the CD player on the center console).

Everybody has the shark fin antenna. That doesn't mean you have NAV. It also contains the BMW assist antenna and a cellular phone antenna that you can hook your bluetooth phone into. Nav is available as a retrofit for certain cars, but its insanely expensive.
