I've now been in the Dealership on two occasions with the Passenger Airbag light indicating the system is deactived when I have my wife in the passenger seat. Now she would like to believe that she is so light that it doesn't register her weight, but...
Last time I was in the dealership, they told me that this was a known problem with no current workaround?
I am not certain if this is a indicator failure or indeed if the system is deactivated.
Does anyone know?
I've had my E60 now for 18 months. You'd think that a safety system like a airbag system would get fixed, or does a fatality need to occur for them to resolve the problem?

I had that happen in my X3 with my wife. She was about 5' 7" and 110 lbs. Never bothered to take it to the dealer, but it did seem to get better with time. Either my wife became heavier, or the seat provided less resistance with use.

If that's not the case, try to get a software upgrade.

I get the exact same problem in my 06 525i. It has happened on about five separate occasions in the past two months, light goes on when I have a passenger sitting there. I was going to mention that when I get the software updated to v19+ (to fix the high battery drain warning)
