Just took delivery of a new ('05) 545i. I'm going through the iDrive menus and am unable to find where to turn on pairing for the BT. In fact, there is nothing about BT anywhere in the menus. I've done some research and understand that it should either be in the Communications menu or the "i" menu under communications, but it's not there.
The car was produced in 02/05. Is it possible that my software needs an upgrade? Or, can someone with an '05 tell me specifically where you see the BT setup option in your menus?
Thanks!

Your car should have Bluetooth. The pairing screen is under the "i" menu and I think its communications settings....

You have Bluetooth...you just aren't very observant! From the main I-Drive menue with the 4 choices, simply push the I-Drive button "up".

During lunch, I checked it out and sure enough, it's in the main I-Drive menu, but you must push up to get to the top menu bar.... then "turn".
BTW... I'm with Verison (better reception in my area)... any recommendations on a phone? I was thinking the Motorola E815.

As is the service advisor at my dealership, as well as two technicians. The four of us "observed" how it's not present. Everyone was baffled because BT is not appearing in the menu as it should. They researched all of their bulletins, etc. and couldn't find an explanation anywhere. They've assured me that the vehicle is wired, although nobody has looked at that, yet. I have an appointment to drop the car off next week so they can get into the programming to investigate it further. Probably just a software upgrade, so I'm curious if anyone else has run into this?

This is the first case I´ve heard of an E60 not coming with BT when it should be equipped thusly. I´d guess software fault but keep us posted.
