Anyone know when they will start production of the 550 SMG, I have ordered my car since sept 1, and I still dont have a production date. I have been trying to order this car since august, but factory was closed. Im getting very impatient!!!!!!!

I placed my order for a 2006 650IC/6-speed in July for a September build.
There were no SMG/6-speeds in September so then postponed to October.
Now I have a production completion date of Oct 7 but delivery (ED) not until a month later. Seems like I could simply have them put it on a boat to the US and I would get it about the same time. Of course would lose the ED savings and no European driving (but I get that all the time - just not in a 650I).

I too ordered SMG... I just called BMWNA and my car is in production and completion date is Oct 6!!! I thought I had a week 41 prod date too, but my dealer informed me 2 weeks ago that I actually had a week 40!
But you will get your car sooner than I, as my car will take 2 more weeks cause in I am on the left coast!!! CANNOT WAIT!

Katheikia More like not sleeping till thanksgiving for me until she arrives!!! PS> Have you also tried speaking to the BMWNA customer reps they maybe able to tell you where she is in the process, as the automated phone is not too accurate.
