 Motorola E815

I am considering upgrading my Verizon phone to a Motorola E815. I understand that the Bluetooth works with the E60. I am getting a 2006 530Xi with Nav (Voice driven I assume). Do I need to purchase any additional equipment from either Verizon, Motorola or BMW, like a docking cradle or any software required to upload the address book? Any input greatly appreciated.

You don't have to purchase any additional equipment to get a phone that is compatible with the BMW to pair and work with it. I would recommend getting a car charger though, as Bluetooth tends to reduce battery life.

I have the Motorola 815 with a 2005 545i. The phone works well in the Bluetooth mode. Address book uploads to the Bimmer without any additional software or hardware.

Are you happy with the E815?

Yes, I am. Good reception, easy to navigate and the Bluetooth function works well in my 545i. The camera and videocam are OK - as good as any other cell phone I've used, maybe a little better.
