Latest Info on Headlights
I email BMW Customer Service and this is what they said.......
Xenon Adaptive Headlights automatically swivel in the direction of the road ahead even up hills and around curves. Sensors measure the vehicles velocity, direction and yaw. This information, combined with the movements of the steering wheel, is fed into an on-board computer. Based on this data, the system calculates the direction in which the vehicle is heading, and automatically points the headlights in that direction. If your vehicle is stopped the headlights, by design, will face forward.
If you feel based on this information that your Adaptive Headlights were not functioning correctly, then we suggest taking your vehicle to your local BMW center. They are in the best position to review your concerns in person and offer technical assistance.
If you have any further questions, please reply to this e-mail or contact the Customer Relations and Services Department at 1-800-831-1117, Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. Again, thank you for contacting BMW.
My question to them was should the lights turn to the left even if stopped........I am not sure this answers the question. If they are to face forward when I am stopped then why when I am stopped and I turn the steering wheel to the right they move to the right and when I turn the steering wheel to the left they do not move past straight ahead.
What do the rest of you think?

What do the rest of you think? | When stopped, they will move to the right, but not to the left. This is by design, so you don't blind oncoming traffic. Even when moving, the will not move as far to the left as to the right.
