i-drive goes blank
i have noticed that my i-drive screen occasionally goes blank when first starting the car. i called my local dealer (rassmussen bmw) and the service manager told me that an upgraded software is now available. he suggested that i leave the car all day as sometimes there are glitches involved. my question is: since this problem is infrequent, do i really need the upgrade. in other words, is there any reason NOT to have the -drive software installed?

yeah.. .I wouldn't go so far as to call the e90 version glitche free...
I have had several versions of freezing up.
screen blank, radio off for several minutes mid trip
menu screen---> pick, say, nav.... initial nav screen up with no active window... gotta go back to the menu
huge delay on boot in the morning....
not flawless... no

not flawless... no | obmd1... are you a mis-placed Wolverine? I'm confused with the address... 
Oh, BTW... the only issues I've had with my I-drive is sometimes when I "startup", my radio station is tuned to a local channel rather than SAT channel. One other time, the radio kept working even after I turned off the car.
