 Should I cancel my order?

I have a 530xi on order. It was ordered on 7/29 and finished production on 8/26 and is now awaiting transportation. I'm not sure if it will have the updates of the start/stop button and the improved DSC. Should I cancel this order and upgrade to one of the ones that will have the Sept changes? The more I think about it, the more I feel like I don't want to buy a brand new 2006 model and have it be outdated the minute it arrives. What is the price difference between those ordered before changes and after? And if a '06 model doesn't have the updates, will it be worth less in trade later?

You won't know until it arrives. Try asking the dealer if the car has the start button and they might

Of course, cancel and they'll

I think your car will have the September changes (I'm pretty sure that the plant was closed for the first three weeks of August). I believe your car therefore was manufactured after the plant was retooled. You should be able to find out for sure from your sales rep. Good Luck!

Don't cancel, you'll still love the car. The start/stop button is just a gimmik anyway. DSC+ would be cool, but I don't think most people would notice the difference between DSC and DSC+. In any case, hopefully you did get the changes, I think there's a good chance!

the start/stop button is a gimmick and do you really think dsc plus makes a hill of beans difference? there is always going to be some latest and greatest gadgetry. unless you are like some others on this site who get new cars every six months you are always going to be behind the curve slightly. it is the same with computers, you buy latest and greatest and three months later some new bell or whistle is out there. new cars dont stay new very long. one of the great things about these bimmers is how well they age. take a look at 5 or 6 year or even ten year old well cared for 5 series, or 3 series. they still look a whole lot more classy than most of the japanese junk out there. i bought an o6 530 xi t. i took delivery june 7th. i plan on keeping it a minium of 5 years and possibly longer. if you want the new things, go for it....

Nicely put, wagon!

As far as cancelling an order, I don't know what the laws are in MO governing ordering cars. In California, it is a NON-binding contract...i.e. you can get out of it any time and get a full refund no muss, no fuss. Now your dealer might be upset with you and if they are the only close ones around.... Still, your dealer wouldn't have ordered the car if he didn't think someone would buy it so he might be cool with you if you cancel. You can make up any story you like (mom is sick, sister is sick, dog is sick, career change, etc.) if you think it'll help.
