Had both window motors replaced-6 month old E60--

I just had both front window motors replaced on a 6month old 05 E60. The window anti-trap warning started turning on for the front passenger window and then the driver side window started shortly after. Has anyone had any similar issues. I had heard that even the older 5 series had similar problems.

I had the problem on my '04 530i. I didn't pay anything to fix it... so doesn't bother me all that much.

Interesting-- do you know if it was the "window motors" or "window regulators" that failed? Window regs have been a problem on many recent BMWs (mostly e46).

The service lady mentioned something about the window regulators being too sensitive so they just went ahead and replaced both motors. The motors worked fine but on one side I kept getting the anti-trap window error on the dash and on the other side I had to hold the switch for the window to go up, the single touch did not work. I had heard about this problem on the older 5 series and the new ones also.

I also have problems with wind noise from the door seals... In SoCal I finally got them to agree to replace all the seals - but it took so long for the parts to come thru that I had moved to the bay area. The interim solution was to put some weird jell or something on the door seals... so now the dealer up here says nothing is wrong! I have to wait till they start making noise again... then they will be replaced.
