Close to leasing 05 545, input requested
I am close to leasing new 545 in SF Bay Area. Sport, Premium Sound, Cold Weather. Titanium Gray or Titanium Silver / Black. Trying for $1500-2000 over invoice, negotiate MF to .0012. With $1000 down (cap cost reduction), 12K/year, looks like lease should be around $746. A couple of questions:
1. Any input on deal? 2. Would like to connect I-Pod. Have seen other posts but not clear on whether premium sound enables or inhibits this. Is there anything I should get out of dealer on this subject before finalizing deal? 3. Does CD or CD changer recognize and play MP3's? 4. Is premium sound worth it - I could wait for Black Saphire, sport - probably about $2500 less. Concerned black too hard to keep clean.
Open to any general input on this vehicle as well.
Thanks

The iPod connector that's available on the X5 and other BMW models isn't available yet on the E60--supposedly will be by the end of the year, and Dension also has a connector that is supposed to be available for the E60 by the end of the year. I had the aux input installed at Peter Pan ($64 part & $140 labor), and hardwired a power adapter w/ line output, and iPod is in center armrest: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=12430
Premium sound system shouldn't affect it (although the current BMW iPod connector for other models isn't compatible with nav--who knows if E60 version will be).
No MP3 playback yet, but is supposed to be available in September timeframe with software update (already available in Europe)--only for CD player in dash, not CD changer.
Premium sound (Logic7) is the best factory car audio system I've heard--highly recommended.
Black cars are beautiful...for about 5 minutes after detailed...very high maintenance--popular color, just be aware of maintenance issue.
General input--you'll love this car!

I'm pretty postive the 545i is more than 55,000 even w/o options...

And yes, its cheaper to lease a 545 right now than a 2006 530.

Also Premium Sound will not affect the ipod which I have been told you can install yourself but can be done at the dealer. The money factor you posted is .0012 and I think you were trying to say .00120 and if so that is a good one and make sure to get any add ons in writting on a WE OWE. Good Luck William
