 Sport Steering Wheel for wimps



Does anyone have any idea why BMW puts such a whimpy steering wheel in their US cars?
I'm looking to get a FAT rimmed wheel like in the 645i and I can't get the dealer to figure out which one is right for my car... I've looked for part on realoem.com, however, I can't find out what the notes are... I'm looking ofr the multifunction wheel for my E60 w/o heating. ANY HELP is appreciated, I can't hold on much longer This site is awesome!

I've read that you can retrofit a sport steering wheel on the E60, but the steering wheels are the thickest when they are heated. Sorry I don't have more info though, but I think it can be done!
