8% is standard BMW... but when your working a stripped down car, and your dealer participates in MACO... @ 8%... you could be off by $200-300.
Just be a nice guy and ask for the freakin' invoice. If they are an honest dealership... they shouldn't mind. It shouldn't change what they are willing to take based on market conditions. They will know what everyone else is selling their cars for.

Nobody in other businesses will show you their cost. Have you ever asked the sales guy at Best Buy what a TV cost him, and make an offer after finding out? If I were in business and if someone as me what my cost is, I would tell them it's none of his business. Pay what you think the item is worth to you. I guess the car business is so competitive that the dealer is willing to let you see the invoice. I would probably do it too since the invoice can be had in edmunds.com anyway.

No point in this... He knows his costs... You can find out the invoice price on Edmunds or KBB.com.. All this does is allow him to convince you to pay more...
Find out the invoice.. shop around.. figure out a fair deal, and make your offer. Anything other than that, just serves to confuse the situation.

You can easily figure out the answer to your question by going to any of one of the hundreds of automotive sites that give the invoice prices on these cars. Use that to negotiate your deal, or to decide if you think you're getting a fair deal.

Mark up is about 10%. Diclunt math is 9%. The dealer gets no discount on delivery charge. Hold back is in addition. There is no hod back on ED. In large cities $1000 over invosice is obtainale. Small cities , NOT SO.
