2004 non-NAV 545i, does it play MP3s?
Just bought a 2004 545i (May 04 manufacture, Aug 04 delivery) today. BMW NA exec car. FANTASTIC SO FAR.
Anyone know if the standard iDrive software shipped with this model allows MP3 encoded CDs to be played? This is a non-navigation iDrive.
Also, what does the auxiliary audio input cost? Does the car support the iPod connector (if so, is it worth it)?

From what I have gathered...the software update that plays MP3 for the non-nav (business) version is not out yet. (don't know whether it will be out or not)
There seems to be an update in Oct/Nov timeframe for playing MP3 in the nav version (Professional).

For people in the USA, non-NAV cars with the latest software update can play MP3's. NAV cars should get that functionality in the coming months.
