 sport package = stiffer feel??

I dont know if I believe the dealer who told me this... but he said that with the sport package, you also get a stiffer feel when turning the steering wheel, and you get a stiffer feel when you press on the gas pedal....

Is this true?

Yes, the cars suspension is tighter, but with the new 5s it is much less noticeable then before. These cars are truely made to be coupled with sport package, unless you would rather be driving a lexus!!!

the suspension being tighter is different from the actual steering wheel feeling tighter and the gas pedal feeling tighter tho. I am wondering if the steering wheel is actually harder to turn & the gas pedal is actually harder to press down on with the sport package?

I understand that the car's ride will feel stiffer altogether w/ sport package.

I've driven both, and I bought the sports package. I would not say that there is any difference in "feel" between the two in steering and gas pedal. The only real difference I detected was the presence of the active steering, which I ended up choosing not to get. On the other hand, handling on the road is noticably superior with the sports package, while the ride is definitely more taut.

Ok, so if I dont get the sport package, the wheel & pedal are the same. i can upgrade to my own sports suspension to get the stiffer spring rates & tighter ride. Correct me if I am wrong, but I will only be missing the sport seats & anti roll after I do my own upgrade.

"Only" missing the sport seats and active roll stabilization is a big "only." The sport seats are very good (not the best I've had, but still very good), and ARS is fantastic--not too stiff on straightaways, and hardly any body roll on the twisties. To achive the body roll minimization with aftermarket stuff, you're going to have a very harsh ride. If you're thinking about upgrading the suspension with after market stuff, why wouldn't you get the sport package, which also includes lower/stiffer suspension, active steering, 18" wheels and shadowline trim (I assume you're talking about a 545i--not sure what's included on the other E60s)?
