 MP3 player in my e60

HEy guys,
is there any way to implement an MP3 player with the i-drive system? I've read posts where users claimed to have used the idrive to switch to the mp3 player....

thanks

As of now, the only way to listen to an iPod with a direct link to your stereo is by having the dealer install an Auxiliary Input. You can't control the iPod with the iDrive though.

The iPod connector, available on some other BMW models, is not yet available for the E60. I had the aux input installed and hardwired the iPod--here's instructions and pix:

is there anyway way to use a different mp3 player i.e. a creative muvo, and use the same procedures? What types of connectors would you recommend?

thanks

The aux input works with any audio input that can connect to a mini stereo cable. I would imagine that there are similar adapters to the Monster one I used available for other MP3 players, but I'm not familar with them--try Creative's site for links or Google it.
