I have a co-worker with a 05 525i and he says he's got a hesitation problem. When he stepson the gas from a stop he says there is a delay that doesn't feel normal. The dealer he brings it to says it is normal though. Any ideas? Are there any TSB's out there?
Thanks for the help.

and also the model I test drove. It does not happen in Drive-Sport mode, or in M-1, so I consider it part of the D-mode programming. Consider it passenger neck protection from lead-footed drivers.

The hesitation is not normal, but a software upgrade will solve the problem. I don't know of any TSB's off the top of my head, but this topic has been beat to death on other forums...

As far as I have read, BMW service departments seem to not be very good at dealing with these issues, but a software upgrade to CIP 16.2 or higher seems to resolve many of the transmission hesitation problems.
Check out this thread (there are many others, this is just one I found right away):
