Front License Plate (a different issue)

Well... I finally caved in and mounted my "required" front license plate. I have a question for you all..........

I'm using the typical chrome BMW licence plate frame actually the ///M frame and when I held it up against that ugly rectanglular mounting bracket I noticed that where the holes line up for the plate and frame... my only options are 4 plastic treaded holes in the mounting bracket.

There are 2 brass threaded holes on the mounting bracket, which leads me to believe that something is meant to attach to that and then mount the plate and frame to that.

How did you mount your front plates? Directly into those 4 plastic holes?

Used the plastic holes if I'm not mistaken. Well, the dealer had their paper advertising plate there anyway and I just used the same 4 holes. Those other holes might be for the Japanese license plate. I say that because the license plate mount for US-spec cars is also the one for Japan according to the packaging/part number lable.
