still waiting for my 230/235 or 335ci, needed a commuter car right now so i got the next best thing; a 2006 chevy cobalt ss(non-supercharged), 2.4ltr., 171 hp/163ft-lbs., 5-speed manual, drove it home last night, i was pleasantly surprised with the overall feel and quality of it, even the shifter and clutch are quite decent, respectable power, overall not bad for msrp around 20k, should be a nice fwd daily driver to complement my future purchase.

I hope it has a good warranty.

While I am sure the Cobalt is a step forward from the Cavallier, that car was a total POS. I have had numerous Chevy rental cars of all sizes lately, and frankly I would go for a used Civic or Corolla. Far better build/material quality and relaibility.

I'm glad you enjoy it...I truly mean it. For me, after getting burned by another GM product that didn't go the distance, I am still waiting for Chevy and GM at large to prove that my prejudice against their vehicles is unfounded.

the reason that i chose the cobalt was because i had $3500 in gm card reward coming to me, otherwise i probably would have gone japanese, that said the cobalt by all accounts is vastly improved over the cavalier and is considered to now be at least "competitive" with the imports, the warranty btw is btb 3/36 and 5/60 on the powertrain
