Here's the offer I just made for a new 545i...

Im 2 yrs into a 3 yr lease on a 325i but am ready for a bigger car. My dealer tells me I can get out of my current lease for abou $1200 difference between what I owe and what they will buy the car for. I put some thought into it overnight and faxed him this offer today:

2005 545i,premium pkg, steptronic, prem. sound, comfort seats, nav, sat. radio
cap cost:$57370 (that's $1500 over invoice by my calculations)
base money factor .0010
no cap cost reduction
residual 59%
36 months/36k miles

Do you think this is a fair offer? Think he will do it?

Well, if he's going to eat your $1,200 deficit on the e46, then you are essentially offering him $300 profit....can't see that happening.

No would be paying for the lease buy-out myself.

I figured that $1500 for a couple hrs work was not bad especially since the 545i is about to be supplanted by a bigger output model, but based on the responses here I may be lowballing.

Just signed a deal tonight for a 2005 545i

Titanium Gray
Sport
Nav
Premium Sound
Cold Weather package - to keep my wife's butt warm - I guess
Rear Fold Down Seats
Rear Power Sunshade - didn't care about this...
HUD - didn't really want this, but pickin's are gettin' slim...
Sat Radio Prep
MSRP $66,270
Invoice $60,560
$5k down
$750/month 36 lease.
THat works out to either $1950 profit on .0010 MF or $1400 profit on .0012

Excited about my new car...will pick it up Saturday.

Turning in a 2003 330i - also pretty fully loaded. Just felt it was time to grow up...long freeway drives in a 3 series aren't the most comfortable! I have so much to learn now...had 2 3 series in a row and know them...did a bunch of DIY on them, too.

Well I got the rate but had to pay more, not surprisingly. I don't mind, it was a fair deal. See my post above for my 'just got it!' message
