the british glossy car magazine called "car" is one of the best i have seen. car and driver has become a bit cheesy although they occasionally have something interesting to say. road and track is pretty good and automobile is the best of the ones i read. i take all of them with a grain of salt since they often seem biased. that said, car had this to say about the e60: For: still the best.
against: should be better, should be cheaper, run flats ruin ride. verdict: where has the magic gone? i dont get theire verdict since if it still the best than that must mean it is more magical than competitive models. note their comment regarding run-flats.
