I don't think the weight is as much an issue as the size might be unless you are careful with your wheel and tire choices.
Personally, I say it is too big a wheel. I saw 20s on a 760 and that is a big car and it still looked too big to my eyes.
Your ride quality and steering effort will be noticeably different...IMO, it will all suffer.

As a 50+year-old white male, I see little attraction to "pimped rides." As a 25-year-old of whatever ethnicity, no doubt my opinions would vary somewhat.
I like the standard 18-inch wheels that will come to me from the factory on my new 545i sport package. And I believe I'll probably go with skinny 17-inchers for my snow tires.
