Since you have a 545i be it 04 or 05 will you be trading in or selling outright for a 550i?
If so will you wait until at least a 9/2006 production 550i basically a 2007 550i?

Given the huge depreciation hit, it will be a pricey proposition. Whether it is "worth it" depends on the individual and their finances. It would not be "worth it" to me.
I recently sold a 2004 X3 that I'd owned only 12-13 months, and it was a bitter pill to swallow that depreciation. To me, it's expensive enough owning any new BMW. To take that depreciation hit every few years puts ownership way out of my price range.
Of course, the way to do this is to lease. Im sure that plenty who leased an '04 545i for 24 months will be interested in leasing an '06.

I'll probably get a 550 when my 545 lease runs out in 2008.
I have no desire to trade up for 30 more horses.

Sounds good to me, Arn. The killer lease deals on the 545i are good enough to keep me out of a 550i no problem.

I have a '02 540 six speed coming off lease in July and the local bmw dealer allowed me to preorder the 550i (name on list) and keep my current 540 until Oct. I'm pumped about the car but don't know the actual final price. Oh well....I like the + 30 ponies.
