I have a 2004 530i. The computer mpg is way off. Is there a way to recalibrate this? Local dealer says no. Need to confirm whether or not I am just stuck. Thanks for any information.

I just bought a 05 530i. I know it will get better but I am only getting 16mpg on average city and hwy driving... I think it is way low. I have reset it when I refill to measure. The car now has 900 miles on it. I think I am way off....

I was getting just under 20 mpg on my 545i during my wild 5 days/1250 miles in Europe.
Try using good old pencil and paper and see how it compares to the BMW computer.
