Well, I put 1200 miles on my ED 545i and the car is a dream on the road. The active steering is cool (long debates on this one!) and there is ZERO body roll with the active suspension watching things.
You are going to love it! I have a bit more power than you but I also have a 2001 530i so I can imagine the E60 with an I-6 and I think you'll be very happy.

I picked up my 2006 530i yesterday at Capital Cities BMW in Albany, it has 17 miles on it now. I was a good and compliant "break in" driver but several things stand out. The torque of the engine in the low revs is markedly better than 2005 - and the thing takes off like my old (2000) 540 in the 4500-7000 band. Ok oops perhaps I did drive the thing a bit aggressively... The steering mod is noticeably better than the previous 'tuning' of the steering assist. Not sure what else to say but I am very impressed and glad to have waited the extra month and frankly it was worth the higher money factor and extra $500 to get the '06 imho.

Please comment on the steering. Did you get AS in your new 530i, or just Servotronic. Also, did BMW finally start providing the sport steering wheel?
