 Warning light - "Increased Emissions"

Shortly after filling the car the message "increased emissions" showed up. I called BMW Service but the young lady that helped me did not know what it meant.

Anybody else have this happen? The car seems to be running okay.

I'll call my dealer in the morning.

Means the fuel is crap, don't go to that station again.

I assumed it had something to do with the fuel as it happened 3.4 miles after I filled up.

But - same station I go to on a regular basis.

Thanks for your input.

Is there an easy way to reset the warning message? Or is it a dealer fix?

Should change when the car's happy with the fuel again. They may have had the wrong octane in their premium tank.

From what I remember reading on another board, the increased emissions warning message has to be reset at the dealer. Sometimes the message is logged as a gas cap issue and other times the car's software has to be upgraded in order to prevent future occurrences...
