race tracks in CA
anyone know any public race tracks where people can drive around a track with their own cars around northern california or the bay area?
| | Reply » race tracks in CA | The three biggies that I know of in NorCal are...
Mazda Raceway (Laguna Seca) - Monterey Peninsula - http://www.laguna-seca.com/
Infineon Raceway (Sears Point) - Sonoma County - http://www.infineonraceway.com/
Thunderhill Raceway Park - Willows CA - http://www.thunderhill.com/
Best bet is to contact the BMW CCA Chapters in your area and see what is on their driving school calendars.
Also, look through the Motorsports forum for threads about driving schools.

In addition to the host of clubs/groups that rent the track for events, THill conducts their own Street Schools a couple of times a year. These are really well-geared for the first-timer (similar in many respects to CCA schools which I HIGHLY recommend as well).
If the OP (or anyone else) is available, I'll be up at THill this wekeend instructing at the GGC school. I have a passenger seat available for rides
