Is it possible?!
Ok I know a lot of you around here have purchased the E90 and all love it, and I have purchased my E46 about 8 months before you and I知 in love with mine. The thing is, I HATE the E90 with a passion, and I知 in love with my car. Now I知 wondering, do you think its possible that sometime in the future (10 - 20 years) that BMW will "pull a Ford" and bring back the E46, (maybe spruced up, I don稚 know, all clears in stock and body colored moldings for the sedan, whatever.) Because the thing is, as I知 sure you all know 10 years is a long time to keep a car, but im IN LOVE with this car, and I don稚 think ill buy another car until I find one I like as much. So kudos to all who love their E90 but, I pray the E46 will come back one day.  | | Reply » Is it possible?! |

The new Thunderbirds looked very different than old ones to me, the Mustang is definitely a modernized version of the old car, and even the GT isn't an exact clone of a GT-40. A better way to view it is to compare a Z8 with a 507. Even though the 507 inspired the Z8, they are not clones of each other. The E90 looks more like an E46 than a Z8 looks like a 507, just because of the age differences.
Each step of the 3 series to me is an modern intrepration of the same ideal, current the car's release date. I don't think the E90 is as pretty as an E46 (but nothing else is either), but even I admit the E46 is a little "dated", meaning it had design clues relative to when it came out. To lead, you need to look forward, not back. That is why BMW's are the benchmarks that everyone shoots for.

Actually, if they are going to re-do a classic, start with an true classic - E30 M3..

The worst thing one can do is fall in love with a depreciating chunk of metal. I can almost guarantee to you that they will not do that, this car was not special or classic enough to justify a comeback.
Enjoy your car, and let me suggest a couple test drives at the new car dealer, I am sure that if money was not the object you would step up.
Having said that, there is nothing wrong with driving a car until the wheels fall off, you are just missing all the innovations.
