How in the heck do you sell these things?
So, I have two fantastic bimmers which I didn't plan to part with until they left on a flatbed truck, but unfortunately my husband's job is sending us overseas. He's the car guru between the two of us, but he's already gone, so I'm supposed to sell the cars then move over. I've tried running ads and gotten nibbles but no real action. I've posted online ads (here and elsewhere) but only gotten ridiculous offers (7k for my 2000 m5? give me a break!) Carmax was a complete waste too. So, is there anyone out there who could point me in the right direction so I can get this taken care of and finish my move? I really appreciate any suggestions.

P.S. I live in the Washington DC area, if anyone knows someone that buys used cars.

They are located in PG county, in Laurel I believe. They come to you, and cut you a check if you accept their offer.

The M5 has 98k miles, and it has a black/red interior. We just bought it last May. The 330ci has 115k miles; we picked it up European delivery. the 330ci has a tan leather interior. They both have nav systems, IceLink cables, uprgaded wheels, and sports/premium packages. They're really fantastic cars. I'd like to get $23,000 for the M5 and $13,000 for the 330. The 330 needs some minor work- the suroof mechanism needs to reset on the tracks and the nav system software needs to be rebooted. I'm willing to take care of these things or lower the asking price if the buyer is willing to handle them. I'm attaching photos of the M5- I need to find some good ones of my 330, then I'll upload those too. Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

The print ad will obviously take longer to show up, but it'll be going out directly to some of the most loyal Bimmer fans who would be interested in the cars. If you have all the maintenance records, be sure to include that in your ad to give buyers confidence that its been well taken care of.
Good luck!

Unfortunately the print ad will probably take too long to be of much use to me, but putting one on their website would be great.
I emailed the webuycars.com folks, and I'll be curious to see what they say. I did try approaching the used car guy we bought the car from last May, who quoted me 17k for the M5 (which he says is based on what they've been going for at Manheim). I realize the guy's doing this to make a living, but given that the private party blue book is 24-27 (and the dealer blue book is 30), that seems pretty low to me, particularly given that there's not an infinite supply of these cars around. So, I'm a little bit gun-shy of used car dealers. Are my expectations of what I should get for the car in the realm of reason? Has anyone had a positive experience dealing with used car guys?
