Air Condioner - Covered By Warranty?

Oh man.....It's been two weeks since I bought my car and today the air conditioning stopped working. The vents will only blow out regular temp air and the temperature display fluctuates like crazy.

Does anyone know if the air conditioning system is covered by the bmw warranty? My service warranty has expired but the regular warranty is good 'till next year. Does this sound like a serious problem? If I have to pay out of pocket.....any estimates on how much it will cost to repair? I'm freaking out more and more by the minute

The BMW warranty covers pretty much everything. Take it to the dealer soon and get it fixed. Probably a coolant leak or something.

Good news and bad news. Good news is I just got back from the dealer and the SA said that it was likely just the outdoor temperature sensor. The bad news is that he estimated a cost of $350 to fix it told me that the sensor is not covered by the warranty.

Previously the temp display had been stuck at -40 degrees, but after I washed my car today is when the air con went bad and the temps went nuts. Now the air con works again with the temperature stuck at -40. I'm guessing that some wires got wet during the wash causing it to go haywire.

What do you guys think? Should I shell out the money to get it fixed? Any idea how much other mechanics would charge for this fix? Is there a DIY page somewhere on the web?

Why is not covered? Do you have a CPO or the factory warranty. If it's still within the 4 year/50K then maybe you need to take this up above the SA. The SA seems to work on commission.

I would try another dealer, its amazing how things change. Call BMWNA depending on what second dealer tells you and see what they say.
